Magic Eraser Questions

Quick guidance on selections, difficult backgrounds, supported files, mobile use, batch work, and image ownership.

Is this tool part of Google Photos?

No. This is Upscayl's own online cleanup workspace. It is not connected with or endorsed by Google Photos or the Pixel product line.

How do I remove an item with Magic Eraser?

Open a supported photo, paint over every visible part of the item, run the cleanup, and inspect the filled area before saving the new file.

Which selections usually produce the cleanest result?

Compact objects surrounded by sky, grass, wall, sand, pavement, or another consistent surface are generally easier to rebuild than large foreground subjects.

Does the editor uncover what was behind the object?

No. Hidden pixels are not present in the photograph. The tool creates a plausible fill from visible information around the selection rather than revealing the original background.

What should I do if the repair looks obvious?

Undo the edit, tighten the mask, and include any remaining outline or shadow. Several small passes can work better than one oversized selection.

Can I mark a photo on a phone?

Yes. The editor accepts touch input. Zoom in and reduce the brush width when the distraction sits close to hair, text, product edges, or another subject.

What file types and sizes can I open?

The workspace accepts JPG, JPEG, PNG, and WebP images up to 20 MB each. ZIP files are also available for supported batch uploads.

May I erase a watermark or ownership mark?

Only when you own the image or have clear permission to change it. Do not remove a mark used to communicate another creator's authorship or license.

Mark It and Clean Up the Frame

Open your photo, paint a precise selection, and decide whether the repaired area is ready to save.
